The barrio now has an eerie low; the calm before the storm. And still, I loathe him. I detest the life he has brought my children and me into. His choices for our family and our town have lead to a twisted dependence on his augmentations. I snarl in disgust at the realization of the pathetic minion status he has deemed onto us. I’m repulsed at this family’s dependence on him; his money, his power. But his leverage leaves me powerless, wedged between my mundane obligations at home with the niños and my intense craving to be free again; free from him. Jesús’ incarceration is my liberation. Soy encantado él es ido.
